Welcome to the world little Megyn!

She already knows what she wants and has a mind of her own.....10 days OVERDUE I was scheduled for an induction at 7:00 in the morning.  I had never been past my due date with the other kids and Max was 9 days early.....so I was sure I would have her at least a week early.  Nothing!  Every day I went over my due date I couldn't believe I wasn't going in to labor, and I had tried everything there was to get labor going with NO results!

I had planned on getting up at five o'clock on the day of my induction so I could finish packing and say goodbye to the kids.  Well I woke up at four thirty and thought wow what was that?  My first contraction.  I had braxton hicks so much the last few weeks I just ignored them all the first hour thinking "wouldn't it just be ironic to go into labor right now".  Well it WAS ironic and I finally convinced myself that WOW I was in labor and they were coming on fast and strong!!!

I finished packing (actually did my hair and makeup thinking I was FINALLY going to get some good hospital pictures....YA RIGHT) and we woke the kids up to say goodbye.  By the time we were on our way to the hospital I was really uncomfortable and that was when I started taking it all out on Tim.  I guess it is because I know him the best and can take out all of my frustrations on him but I had to apologize to him after the birth because he literally can't even look at me the right way with out totally annoying me......sorry babe!  We got to the hospital and I was really worried about making it up to the labor and delivery floor without totally embarrassing myself.  I made it up to labor and delivery (right on time for my induction) and told them that I was here for an induction but I AM IN LABOR!!

They got me to my room and I got changed and the nurse said she paged the doctor but that she was in a c-section so she couldn't come right away.  The nurse said I was at a four or five at about seven o'clock.  I ended up talking Tim into letting me get a doula (birth coach) two days before my induction.....I had been at my sisters birth and she had one and I knew then that if I ever had more kids I definitely wanted to have one.  We had called her at about 5:30 to let her know that I was in labor and she said she would meet us at the hospital as soon as she could get there.

Well between seven and seven thirty the contractions started getting really intense and I felt myself buckling and almost told the nurse to get me the epidural.....I had really, really wanted to do this birth natural with no drugs.  But I had an epidural with the other three kids and to be honest I didn't know if I had the whole natural thing in me.  But at seven thirty Ruth showed up and totally helped me through the rest of my birth.  She assured me that after I tried a few different positions if I still thought I needed the epidural I could get it.  The first one she had me try was just standing up....I never thought I would like it but it was the most comfortable way for me to get through the contractions.    I said earlier that I am really hard on Tim when I am in labor....I have to share this story. Before my doula got there he was doing his best to help me through the contractions and he tried to help me stay calm....during one of the contractions he was breathing with me but to me it sounded like he was saying SHHH SHHH SHHH......after the contraction I said "were you just SHHHHHHING MEEE?? Don't SHHHH ME!" The nurse was in the room when that happened and after Meg was born she told us that she was trying so hard not to laugh when I said that to him, she said it was like watching a SNL skit....LOL cracks me up now.....not so funny in the moment!! Love you babe!

Somewhere after eight the Dr. said I was at a seven and then things just started happening really fast.  By the next two or three contractions I felt like I needed to start pushing.  I remember my doula saying that it usually takes about an hour a centimeter so that I wouldn't be pushing until ten or eleven.....I thought I would die when she said that!  But within about ten minutes I was pushing!  It all went so fast I couldn't believe it when after pushing for like 2 minutes they put her on me.....total disbelief that it happened so fast, and that I made it with NO drugs (not sure I would recommend it or say that it is for everyone)!  It was a totally awesome experience!  Megyn Alanna Kelly was born at 8:24 a.m. on June 7th 2012.  She was 7lbs 4ozs and was 20 inches long.

That afternoon the kids came to meet their new baby sister.....they all fell SO in love with her.
When I called to tell the kids that she was born Pey asked me if it was really a girl.....he was secretly hoping they were wrong and it was really a boy.  I said "Yes honey it is a girl and when you see her you will fall in love."  Well from the minute he laid eyes on her he couldn't stop smiling, it was so cute!  He has even given her a nickname "Mini Meg" he is such a good big brother!
Her dream of having a little sister FINALLY came true!  She is such a good little mother and is SO helpful with her.  Meg is never wanting for attention or for someone to hold her.  I have about had to set the timer to make sure everyone is getting a fair turn:)
I wasn't sure how Max would react to not being our baby anymore....He is SO cute with her and I can't believe how gentle and soft he is with her, he will kiss her head or grab a burp cloth and so gently wipe her mouth when she spits up.  It is adorable.  He will come in our room in the morning and find her and say "Hi baby Girl".  Love it!
Meg meets Grandma Kelly!  Thanks for coming up to stay with us those last few days before I had her!  Then she took the kids for the weekend to their house which was SO nice to catch up on my rest!  I know by the time Tim went to get them Grandma and Grandpa were exhausted but it was such a help!  Thank You, Thank You!
I love the look on Grandmas face in this one;)

Max is 3!

Where do I start with my little man?  He is such a sweetheart....totally loves his mommy.  He just melts my heart everyday.  He wakes up in the morning and has to find me and get some cuddle time in.  He tells me all of the time that he loves me.  Peyton and Addi have always been more inclined to want their dad, and dad will definitely do in a pinch for Max but I have to say of all of the kids he misses me the most when I am gone and usually just wants his mommy:)

Max got to celebrate his 3rd Birthday with Grandpa Redmon!  My dad came out to stay til I had the baby.....the one I haven't had yet.  The one that was supposed to be here 5 days ago!!  Not that I am counting;) My dad left after being here for a week without seeing his new grand baby, I felt so bad it didn't work out the way we thought it would.   But it was great to have him here, the kids loved seeing him (and his dog Lucy.....Max calls her Goosey which is kind of sticking:), and he totally spoiled me, he went on walks with the kids, read books with Peyton, slap jack and war with Addi, did the dishes, made dinner almost every night he was here, he even unloaded my groceries and put them away for me!!  I probably got more naps in the week he was here than in my whole pregnancy.....come to think about it, that is probably why I never went into labor.... lol didn't do enough:).    Maybe this baby just really wanted to have her own birthday month....she didn't want to share with all of the crazy May birthdays in our family!  But thanks for driving all of the way out here dad and for putting up with me being uncomfortable and cranky.....Love you:)

On to Max's big day.  Poor little guy was getting sick on his birthday and didn't really feel that good, but he tried so hard to have fun.  This picture was of right before we left for the Folsom Zoo to see some animals and more importantly ride the train!

There were so many peacocks at this zoo and my kids loved trying to get close to them, they are really beautiful birds, but wow are they noisy little things!

Round two of the train ride:)  Max loved it!
Present time!  This is his party dance, he was so cute dancing around so excited to open his presents.
Then Pey and Addi decided to join in...
Not a good picture but they were all having such a fun moment dancing together:)
First present he opened....trains!!
I need to add a side note that because my parents don't live close by and because they almost have 19 grand kids, they usually just send money to the kids, I know my mom feels bad that they never have anything to open from them but I love it, I always have some money to put in their savings accounts and I know that they will be glad for it someday:)  So thanks mom and dad!  The kids usually get to much stuff anyways, it was just a lucky suprise that grandpa got to be here on his birthday!
Some really good water squirters for the pool.
His big present was a train set that goes with the one he got for Christmas....he threw his hands up in the air and said YES!!
A few years back Peyton and Addi got suitcases from Grandma and Grandpa Kelly, well he has wanted one ever sine he could drag theirs around....and that is what he got from G & G Kelly!!  He was so excited and has toted that thing all over with him ever since:)
Max also got some new clothes from G & G Kelly.....thanks:)
